Hey there, how’s everybody doing? You know the other day The Mong was craving some delicious Italian food, and I thought, “What better place than Frumentos?” Located on Beverly Blvd. in Montebello, this family owned and operated deli has been going strong for 50 years due to diligent, hard work and strong, family values.
Anthony “Tony” Frumento opened his Italian market, Frumentos, in 1958, an extension of what his father started in 1928 when he opened his market in downtown Los Angeles. Married in 1956 to his wife Barbara, they soon began a family and had 7 children who would become future Frumentos employees. Instilling in his children the hard work ethic handed down by his father, and teaching them strong family value by actively involving them into the family business, Frumentos is a shining example of a family run business.
Starting out as an Italian market, Frumentos has evolved into much more, a full service Italian deli specializing in exquisite Italian food delicious enough to satisfy any craving. From your favorite pasta dishes like spaghetti & meatballs and lasagna; to satisfying Italian meat subs in sizes from 6” to a 30” party platter; or maybe try some of their famous biscotti, coming in 4 flavors; and of course, pizza. Frumentos has everything to satisfy your Italian hunger, plus they cater, so you can treat your next party or event and introduce people to this wonderful food.
